Dear students and parents,
We are excited to have you here at MKSM and to help you explore the beautiful world of Indian Classical Music. Like any educational institution, MKSM Online has its own rules and guidelines that all students must follow to help foster a healthy learning culture and become integral members of the greater MKSM music community. Please read this document in detail for our rules and guidelines. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out!
Section: Class Rules
- Students should log in 2 minutes before the official start time of the class. Classes will begin and end sharply on time.
- Late-comers will not be allowed to enter the Zoom meeting room. So please be on time!
- Students should find a quiet place and sit cross-legged on the floor during class and practice. If you have health conditions that prevent you from doing so, please reach out to your teacher.
- It is important and also mandatory to keep your video ON during the entire class session. In case of an emergency, you can take prior permission from your teacher to keep your video off.
- Your mic should be muted at all times except when the teacher asks you to unmute/sing.
- To ensure student’s singular attention and focus, parents/friends/siblings are not allowed to sit with/near the student when the class is on.
- Homework is a critical element of your learning plan and should be submitted in a timely manner. The submission is due 2 days (48 hours) before the next class.
- Students must inform the teacher at least 1 hour before the class on your class Whatsapp group in case you are unable to attend on a given day.
- Recording the class session externally/on zoom is NOT allowed.
- In case of missed sessions, audio recordings and notes will be provided to you on the Whatsapp group by the teacher-in-charge of your batch. Kindly make sure the recordings and notes are not forwarded to anybody outside your batch, failing to which strict action will be taken. Also, it is your responsibility to catch up with the material in time so you are ready for the next class!
- Zoom class recordings are for temporary one-week archivals and are not accessible to the students. The recording will be provided only for a valid reason of absence and only if a student has informed their teacher about their absence beforehand.
- The timeliness, attendance, and homework of each student is noted and reported internally on a weekly basis for assessment purposes.
Section: Fees
- The first month’s fee will include a one-time enrollment fee and prorated fees based on the number of weeks remaining in that month. Starting from the second month, monthly fees will be assessed on the 1st day of the month.
- Every month, you will receive a payment link/invoice at the beginning of the month. Fees are due on the 1st day of that month and should be cleared latest by the 7th day of the month. In case you fail to clear the dues in time, late fees may be charged.
- All fees are non-refundable.
- Monthly fees for a month are the same regardless of the number of weekly classes held in that particular month. Number of classes vary between 3 (in case of a holiday), 4 (typical), or 5 (depending on how many weekdays fall in the given calendar month). The number of classes balance over time and fees assessed do not change. Example: There are 5 Mon-Tue and 4 Wed-Sun classes in Nov 2021.
Section: Temporary Break
- A student can take a temporary break of 1 month up to a maximum of 3 months. If the break exceeds 3 months, a re-enrollment fee will be charged.
- Students need to inform the MKSM Office and the teacher about the break. Fees will be put on hold during the break. Only one such break per year is accounted for.
- In case a re-enrollment happens, please note that you may or may not get the same batch that was allotted to you. We will try to retain your batch, but may need to assign another suitable one based on available spots.
- The student should leave the Whatsapp group once they take a break. They will be re-added by the admin once they resume classes.
Section: De-enrollment Process
- In case you wish to de-enroll from the school, you need to inform the MKSM Office at least 2 weeks in advance through email.
- You will be sent a de-enrollment request form which you should fill and submit promptly. As a courtesy, the student should also inform the teacher about their plan to discontinue.
- To keep the process quick and smooth, ensure that all your dues are paid before submitting the form. The fees are due until the end of the month in which discontinuation is requested. In case of any questions or pending dues, we will reach out to you by email/Whatsapp.
- In case you fail to inform the school regarding your discontinuation, the monthly invoices will be due until we receive an official email regarding the discontinuation from the student.
- You will receive a confirmation email once the de-enrollment is completed within 2 weeks. Contact us immediately at MKSM Office if you do not receive the confirmation and if fees for the following month get assessed.
- The student should leave their Whatsapp group once they de-enroll.
